For those of you who may be interested, there will be a rally at the Dobson Ranch Library tonight. The rally starts at 6:00 pm. The address is: 2425 S. Dobson Rd. The main concern will be the curtailing of library hours at this and the Red Mountain library because of Mesa’s budget crunch.

How did the Rally at the Dobson Branch Library go last night?

I was very interested in attending and disappointed I had to miss it because of a previously scheduled board meeting presentation with another group.

I plan on supporting the libraries the next two Sundays at the Red Mountain Branch.

Citizens of Mesa need to realize what is happening to our libraries! I think many people are simply not aware.

Actually, according to the link you provided, most of the Quality of Life tax dollars did go to essential city services. Only 42% went to the Arts Center, the reason for the measure.

  • Sharon Corea says:

The Mesa Art Center is the best thing that’s happened to Mesa. A state of the art facility that the citizens of Mesa voted YES on because we wanted it. It’s paid for, it’s free and clear!

Finally, a world of culture in the arts brought to us in many forms, an opportunity to enrich our lives is at our own front door.

The people of Mesa have done a world of good for the emjoyment of plays, musical productions, offering various art forms, theater for children, plus the education and skills learned through classes offered. It’s been good for Mesa as a whole.

My thoughts are we should be putting our energy into the positive aspects of the Mesa Art Center and quit complaining about the cost to replace a light bulb.
