On Thursday, May 4, Mesa citizens have another opportunity to hear more views on the tax initiatives. Be informed for the May 16 Ballot - Questions 1 and 2.Speaking at the forum from 7:00 - 8:00 PM:Pat Gilbert, Executive Director of Mesa Community Action Network (Mesa CAN), Attorney, Mesa City Council member including Vice Mayor from 1990-98, Mesa 2025 Shared Vision - 2002 Mesa General Plan / Co-Chair, Mesa Joint Master Planning Committee - in favor of the tax proposals on the May 16th ballot.Councilmember Tom Rawles, Attorney and General Counsel for Johnson Stewart Materials, LLC, a current member of the council serving District 3 - in opposition of the 1/2 cent sales tax increase and primary property tax, has suggested specific cuts to balance the City budget.The Forum is sponsored by Word of Grace located at 655 E.
