On Thursday, May 4, Mesa citizens have another opportunity to hear more views on the tax initiatives. Be informed for the May 16 Ballot - Questions 1 and 2.Speaking at the forum from 7:00 - 8:00 PM:Pat Gilbert, Executive Director of Mesa Community Action Network (Mesa CAN), Attorney, Mesa City Council member including Vice Mayor from 1990-98, Mesa 2025 Shared Vision - 2002 Mesa General Plan / Co-Chair, Mesa Joint Master Planning Committee - in favor of the tax proposals on the May 16th ballot.Councilmember Tom Rawles, Attorney and General Counsel for Johnson Stewart Materials, LLC, a current member of the council serving District 3 - in opposition of the 1/2 cent sales tax increase and primary property tax, has suggested specific cuts to balance the City budget.The Forum is sponsored by Word of Grace located at 655 E. University Drive and will be held in Building 2, South Hall. Building 2 is at the west end of the church campus, South Hall at the south end.
