My style, my version of a Blog is a bit different than what you may or may not be use to; I write what I refer to as "Blogatorials." With the advent of the web and the popularity of Blogs, anybody can get their views, opinions or rants out into the world. Publishing at any level has always been a club for a select few, the media elite is not just a catchy phrase but a reality. Publishers and editors have always held control in the palm of their hands and as a result many good writers have had no other venue to express their viewpoints or their ideas until now. That has all changed, now a housewife in Middle America can garner as much attention as journalist in a large media market. I guess what I am saying here is that I would encourage those of you who read this Blog or others to get as involved as you can, respond to the people who contribute and contemplate contributing yourself. We live in a new era of journalism, every citizen can bring something new to the process, and every citizen has an opinion that is relevant to their city, state and this country as a whole. I want to thank the Tribune for having this forum, for caring what citizens of Mesa have to say. Keep this Blog alive by continuing to support it, by continuing to keep the lines of responsible communication aligned. We are entering into a very heavy political season and input from the city of Mesa can have an impact not only for us here, but nationally as those who seek office look for direction from all of us. Have a great weekend and hug a Blogger if you meet one.

Eric,
Couldn’t agree with you more. I learn ever so often just how many readers are out there that let me know they do read and enjoy the blog-mail. Enjoying the views of news worthy comments or whatever is on one’s mind.
Sometimes it’s the way presents written thoughts, the composition, so many different ways that cause readers to pause and look into the blogger pages. Often times we don’t know about them but they are out there.
It would be nice to get a comment here and there, it’s encouraging, but then again knowing there are loyal readers gives a lot of value too.
It’s usually during hot political times that bring people out to be passionate about their cause. I like conversation, validation, differing viewpoints discussed as it makes the task interactive.
Like you, I’m very glad the Tribune stepped out and brought about this opportunity to share what I’ve learned about the community I live in and being able to “talk” about. Something I otherwise would not have done. Every letter to the editor did not get printed in prior times but when they did, it validated what I had to say was worth printing.
I hope to be as great at it as you are someday. In the meantime, I will continue and be thankful to those that do write, create, and respond to the new editorial page - Bloggers at your fingertips!
Sharon:
Keep writing, keep passing along your opinions and keep directing people to this Blog. As for being as “Good as me” someday, flattery will get you nowhere and it is highly unnecessary. I doubt that I am that good, I just speak my mind and so should you and so should everyone else. Have a great day…
Eric,
Experience is a value to me and I’m glad that I have some now. There are many that have been blogging for awhile and I see various styles - some I like - others good but perhaps not what I prefer. I guess the point is many bring something to the table that I can learn from.
Flattery is a word that brings a sense of negativity to me and kinda makes me cringe. Well, no wonder - when I looked up the meaning it say “praise from motives of self-interest” or “insincere praise”.
Not intended here, but thank you for the lesson to be most careful with whom I wish to compliment, as not all knows how to receive it, and my comments may be interpreted wrongly.
