In order to stop the recent serial killers Mayor Gordon of Phoenix is reaching out ….to friends, colleagues, and faith leaders in the Valley to stop these horrendous crimes. The Mayor is giving citizens an opportunity to "reap a reward" - $100,000 - from monies gathered by those that contributed to stop the "monsters". Mayor Gordon put the best solution in motion - in my opinion - through a letter to faith leaders that he and Phoenix Councilwoman Peggy Bilsten, District 3 sent with the following requests:Prayers for -…the city, police department, residents….the victims, their families, and that there will be no further victims….that these monsters be caught quickly, and others like them.Awareness - …encourage awareness of surroundings, take appropriate action for safety….report to 9-1-1 any suspicious crime in process or activity immediately….call Silent Witness, 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377) if you’ve heard, seen, or know something you even remotely believe will be of help.Gordon and Bilsten’s letter concludes with something I believe also - prayer makes a difference - and gives citizens information on where to get the most current information - Silent Witness. Silent Witness, will keep you up-to-date, it also partners with all of our local police departments, and several areas to keep us all well informed on this case and crime in general.Most will agree we’re all thinking about these crimes, the victims and families - and personally will do all we can to put an end to it through knowledge, awareness, - and yes - even prayer!

A man from Glendale was published in USA Today, claiming that citizens with hand guns was an archaic idea.
Pretent for a minute that a city has outlawed handguns. Pretent that the criminals know that the average citizen is un-armed and only law enforcement personnel have guns. With this knowledge, criminals have driven up the crime rate to make this city the “Murder Capital of the World” for several years running or the law enforcement gun toters are killing all kinds of people.
The Washington DC police department, I am sure, do not want the murderer title, so let me assume the criminals are doing the killing.

I wanted to remind those, not of law enforcement training, that might carry a gun to help protect society, follow the state and local laws, only aim at what you want to shoot, watch your background when shooting, and only draw your gun if you are ready, willing and able to use it or you risk your gun ending up with the criminals.
Be safe, keep the faith, and trust your local law enforcement to do all it can to stop the crimnials and reward they for their previous acts.

Thanks for your comment - I agree we do need to depend on our law enforcement to take care of the bad guys; your point on guns is well taken.
It’s so important to be aware of the activities around us, to call 9-1-1 if there is an emergency - call local law enforcement to report suspicious activity or have questions….. and to remember to pray for our safety and the safe keeping of others.
